Music Education

Our Mission

At Master Musicians’ we offer students the opportunity to learn a variety of instruments as well as participate in group classes and performances throughout the year. Our goal is to help your child develop a love and appreciation for music that they can carry with them for the rest of their life.

Benefits of a Music Education

There are many positive effects that a quality music education can have  on young children including language development, increased IQ, fine motor skills, spatial-temporal skills, and even improved test scores. Learning an instrument teaches discipline, goal setting, work ethic, managing performance in addition to being a creative outlet that helps people of all ages to express themselves and can help in their understanding of art and the world around them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What is the best age to start music lessons?

Answer: Most studies show learning an instrument early helps develop and strengthen the synapses between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. This helps later on with cognitive function, learning ability, and problem solving skills. Therefore, it is never too early to start music lessons. We offer "Mommy & Me" classes for toddlers and pre-k children, a great introduction to the world of music. Private instrumental lessons can begin around age 4-5 and range from Violin, Flute, Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Percussion, and yes...even Cello!

Question: How long are the lessons?

Answer: This really depends on the individual student. Beginners are encouraged to start with a 30 minute lesson, to learn the basics without being overwhelmed by the instrument.  Our instructors will assess the progress of each student and determine if a 45 minute or 1 hour lesson is appropriate for each student's skill level. Group lessons and classes are also available, to help students build camaraderie and to have a lot of fun!

Question: Can my student learn more than one instrument?

Answer: Absolutely! Learning multiple instruments can be beneficial in many ways, from reinforcing musical concepts to allowing a student's creativity to grow and more! Our instructors can help determine which instruments will be most beneficial for your student's education.

Question: How does payment work?

Answer: We offer several payment options for families. You can pay lesson to lesson or you can purchase an 8 week or a 12 week package at a special discount. Our Administrator is happy to help families with multiple students as well! Payments can be made via check or credit card.

Question: Are there performance opportunities?

Answer: Yes! We learn instruments so that we can perform for audiences, as well as for personal enjoyment! Master Musicians holds a Spring and Winter recital for all Master Musicians' Students to have the opportunity to perform for friends and family! We also offer Performance Classes every month, where students can perform for the community. For more information about our recital schedule, please reach out to us through our contact form!
